I retired back in '01, and we moved to sunny Florida . Leaving the cold and snow of northern Il. as far behind as we could. My wife has always had a green thumb and done well with her house plants and gardens. Finally i think some of this has rubbed off on me. Last fall a good freind gave us a couple of blueberry bushes, we promised not to try to kill them. My wife said why don't you try to take care of them, and I said OK. With a little TLC and some watering they are bearing some fruit this spring. In the meantime I got the urge and purchased a climbing rose and am trying my hand at that.
The one thing that really amazes me is how anything will grow in this sand we have in Fl. I am used to good black bottom dirt that is full of the good stuff that plants like.
This will be edited and added to at a later date.
