About countrylane

Ever-learning gardener/mother of three healthy and active boys. My idea of fun is getting my hands in the dirt and planting, landscaping, etc. I love the idea of sharing seeds and plants with others. I have been thinking about doing some "lasagna gardening". I do plant veggies along with many flowers. I used to plant veggies the conventional way with a big plot of land all tilled and hoed, but with the kids and other things to do, I plant my veggies in with the flowers and herbs. I am also getting interested in planting heirloom varieties of veggies and pumpkins/watermelons. God blessed me with a gardening mom and a grandmother who also instilled a love of plants in me. I am always drawn to other's gardens and always trying new and different things in our yard.

Planted the blackberries, tomato, and the bachelor's buttons. Talking to a friend on Sunday at church, the subject of cold frames popped up. We both were talking about how hard it is to get the maters that you start in the spring to produce anything ...
