Somehow this has been such a nice day. Has lots to do with the fact that it has been sunny but cloudy too, the plants are just beginning to burst into a profusion of color. It looks as if all my daylilies will be blooming in an array of colors this year. All have so many buds right now. Maybe next week I can have a few friends over to enjoy the out of doors with me. A meal close to the flower beds is one of the best meals you can have. Even if it is baloney sandwiches and yes you can have onions on those if you choose.
FrazzledApril wrote in her blog about her surprise visit with her dad. (Such a good looking dad at that). It reminded me of lots of years ago when I had family day care in my home. Six litle ones at my knees and a knock on the door brings all of us running to see who would be crazy enough to visit this busy little zoo. It turns out to be my dad, he was bringing big bags of chips and cookies. The kids loved it. Turns out the fellow that lived next door to he and my mom had a delivery truck and he would bring my parents the bags that could not be shelved due to expiration date. Since they could not eat all he brought my dad began to drop by once in a while with his goodies. My little ones began to call him "The Chip Granddaddy". I can still remember my dads chuckle when he heard them shouting "The Chips Granddaddy" was coming. They would know the sound of his car as he pulled into the driveway.
Thanks April for that wonderful stroll down memory lane.
