Sometimes life can get in the way of gardening. I haven't been able to do much of that lately. Thank goodness that we have had some summer thundershowers or all of my plants would be dead by now. I do have some nice color right now with tiger lilies, rudbekia, petunias, marigolds, and coneflowers. The only vegetables to have ripened are a few Roma tomatoes, but then we weren't able to plant a full garden this year. My field peas are finally growing since we got some rain. Maybe I will get some after all and will be able to harvest them. I have discovered that sitting around and pouting doesn't make the situation any better, so I will put a smile on my face and do the best that I can.

Life certainly does have a way of getting to full of activities and other stuff. Glad to hear you got some rain to help you out with the gardens. Containers seem to need more care, but I still have to do a few!! When I went to spend a week with my daughter..I filled up 2 liter bottles of water and put the top in the soil of continers upside down and the water went out as needed. The containers did okay for that week!! Yipeee!! |

We all get pretty busy sometimes. Luckily, plants are usually pretty hardy and can handle a little abuse, although unintentional, here and there. What's important is that your in good health and good spirits. |

Witt,am remembering you and John right now. I know it is hard. Go out and smell the summer evenings, write a wee poem and let your mind go to good places. Linda B |
