Finally! Around five yesterday, the thunder started up again. We didn't get excited this time because we hadn't gotten a drop of rain from the other thundering episodes. John looked out the window and said that even the chickens weren't concerned about any rain. They were milling about, pecking at the ground oblivious to the weather. The lightning got worse and worse until the power was going on and off, affecting the TV, so we turned it off, thinking that it would pass shortly. It didn't. It just intensified. Then it started raining. Not a whole lot, but rain nonetheless. We gave up any TV watching and went to bed. The storm went on for a long time with intermittent rain. It turned out that we got two inches. Can you believe it? Any of it is a blessing for us.

I saw the storms on the weather last night. They all stayed north and west of us. We got some rain the night before last. The lightning show that came with it was incredible, eerie even. I can't remember the last time I've seen so much streak lightning at one time. It's sure been a strange spring. I'm happy for you, Witt. Looks like our chances for afternoon rain/storms are going to be with us for a little while. I still had to get out and water early this morning, though!

Our rain forecast went from 40 percent chance today to 0 percent chance. I'll be watering again. We don't have any restrictions here.
Y'all have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell

So glad you finally got a bit of rain. Maybe you can skip today and not haul those buckets around. You need a wagon or something to pull those buckets instead of lugging them around. Linda B

I am so happy for you!! We haven't had any rain in about 3 weeks, so I am still watering. No water restrictions for us though.

Congrats on the much needed rain that you recieved. We've been getting quite a bit each week and scorching temps to go with it causing a lot of humidity. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get more rain that you need.
