We have spent the last two nights in the new apartment and we just got the internet connected today. I am furious with the land lady because she had told us that the dishwasher worked and that we would have a new fridge *the one we have now doesn't have all the shelves or the bars on the doors, so it has very little useable space and right now all our food is packed up in piles in the fridge. I understand that the apartments we are in are older, but that is no excuse. The ceiling on our porch sags and the wasps are loving it, but the land lady isn't doing a darn thing about it because of any number of lame excuses that she comes up with to not get anything done. They also aren't replacing any of our screens, which were full of holes when we moved in and now we can't have the windows open without wasps coming in, and we can't have that because Randy is allergic. I am of the opinion that we pay full rent, we should get full ameneties. She even told us that we should find a dolly and swap the refridgerator from our old apartment ourselves. *which also didn't have all the bars in the doors* part of our incentive to move was that we were going to have working appliances! I am fed up with the woman, so Randy is going to go discuss the condition of our apartment with her when he gets home from work. I don't think I am out of line for being upset; I think she is out of line for not doing her job! She's not even the one who comes out and fixes the stuff, thats all on the maintenance man, so I don't see why she keeps coming up with all these excuses.
On a positive note, my seedlings are doing wonderfully and will be more than ready to set out after the frost date. Pretty much everything that has to do with gardening is on hold until we get done unpacking, but regardless of everything I am still very pleased to be in the new apartment and to have so much extra space. I am not going to be doing a garden log this week because there is just too much stuff on my plate at the moment, but I'll be sure to update next Sunday.
