Life is good

A cool, rainy April evening, pools of water on the lawn; a toad in the side garden, tadpoles in a vernal pool. Lilacs blooming; bushes with new growth and rain dripping of the trees. The flag flaps in the breeze; a chicadee nesting in the birdhouse on the from porch. Sittiing on a old fashioned rocker on the front porch on this cool wet April evening. A warm glow from inside...a gold framed mirror reflects the gentle light. The table set with a cloth of orange and gold with the silver serving spoons laid out. Vases of flowers on the sideboard...the hope of a beehive behind the vegetable garden. Wet leaves turning to rich compost-soil that was hardpan in August, now like chocolate pudding. A cozy room upsairs with warm, glowing lamps and comfortable chairs heaped with pillows and old linens. A bedroom painted my favorite blue with shutters that remind me of France.. A rope swing and Adirondack chairs under an old man maple tree.
