Are these tulips?

I am wondering if these are tulips. And if so what kind? There are ALOT of them growing in the tree line between us and the neighbor. My daughter listened to me describe them, she said maybe they are jumping jacks? Bit by bit things are slowly starting to bud here. Almost all the water in our yard is gone. Night time is still in the lower 40's or so, and the breezes in the day are cool too. But.....over all.....spring is on it's way baby!

Post a picture when they produce a flower. I would be interested to see what it looks like. I collect wild flowers and plant them in their own spot. Dig one up and see what kind of root it has, a bulb or rhizome. Let me know in a PM. Your good friend, Bill Mitchell |

I have them in Seattle area - not showing huge blooms, but I KNOW this leaf. Actually - see the pic from 2008 - if I can figure out how to show you. ... |

what ever they are they spread. the neighbor said a couple of years ago there were only a few. Then he mowed them down. Now they're all over. Even in the woods. A few more days and we'll know for sure when it buds out and blooms. We'll see if the majority wins this! Thanks everybody. |

seeing your pics of your tulips peeking thru the ground, it feels like i am looking at national geographic pics. I do miss the snow and the changing of the seasons. But I have no desire to move back to it and drive on the ice and all of the other good things like that ..:-) I was born in Mansfield and raised in Galion and my dad and step mother live in Caledonia now. My sister lived in Lodi and my ex husbands family lives in and all around Lancaster ohio. I grew up with the seasons and use to ice skate with friends from sun up to sun down. looking forward to more pics of future beautiful pictures peeking through and getting larger and stronger. have a wonderful weekend and be safe happy gardening candy |
