Ah, misho. I have a dwarf, red Japanese maple, but I don't think that I've ever seen seeds from it. I do have those "helicopter" seeds in the spring floating around from somewhere, though. I'll have to keep a better eye on my JM, and see if it makes seeds.

Your plan to take your bonsai to your classroom sounds like a great idea. We all know how many years true bonsai can take to reach its fullest potential so it is good to get started young. I am a fairly new enthusiast and think that my plants will be for my grand children. I only joined this site a few days ago and this is my first post. I wish you every success with your project.
