About told2b

I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. I always lived in apartments and gardened in pots on the building's fire escapes. Every few years the Fire Dept. would make me clear off everything. About 15 years ago we purchased a house in northern NJ. Though only a 100 x 80 foot plot, it seems like an estate compared to the fire escape. I retired 8 years ago and had the time to become more than a weekend gardener. I grow mostly flowers but I have an apple, cherry, plum and 2 pear trees. Also have a variety of shrubs and will plant the occasional tomato and/or melon. I joined the local garden club and am involved in their monthly newsletter.
