I started planting my vegetables in my garden I have rasied up above the dead grass with nutrient enriched soil, then i put compost and humus, then I planted the plants in rows and in the hole I dug I added organic plant starting soil.

A few days later the entire area was covered in grey and white mushrooms. I assumed fro the moisture. How can I correct this issue if an issue at all, except for the ugliness of it?

bsmitch	Mar 19, 2008 \| 10:05 PM PST You must have some really good compost. The mushrooms wont hurt anything and they will go away when the soil dries a bit. Don't eat them. You never can be sure when one will get you. You have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell
AngelsGarden	Mar 20, 2008 \| 5:18 AM PST Its never been a problem for me. I get them when its really wet too. I actually take pictures of them if they are odd or if there are alot of them. LOL
tita	Mar 28, 2008 \| 6:18 PM PST thanks so much. i was worried. my soil is very nutrient. it is a garden built on top of the clay so no issues there. then, on top of that manure and humus. i would say so. i just thought it was not draining well and that was whay i had the mushrooms. they are overtaking my garden and some are really funny looking. i can see why you take pics of them. thanks for your comments. i appreciate it. i am working so hard and when i saw those i thought i picked a bad spot, but they do die by the end of the day they come from the heat and then come back so they must be pretty short lived and love my garden. thanks again for making me feel better.
