Jeeze, the packet of seeds I bought should have read 60-120 weeks, not 60-120 days to germination! I just had another olive seed sprout after 10 months of waiting! I think I might have figured out why. I had recently moved some plants around in my living room and the flat of old seeds wound up closer to the air register, which meant that it was just that little bit warmer than it had been, and it might have been enough to tip the scales. Regardless, I have now doubled my number of olive trees. :-)

I started saving avocado seeds a few months ago. I have them planted in some indoor containers and some wrapped in wet paper towels in plastic bags. I've pealed some and notched some. I might have some results and I might not, but what fun trying. Bill Mitchell |

Hi Robert and how neat all the different/unique plants you can grow there. I am in zone 5/6 also (I prefer the zone 6) and will have to watch your blog to learn. About the air register - last year I actually was putting some of the trays on top of the air register and saw increased results..they did dry out very quickly though! Debbie in IL |
