About southeastsandy

I am divorced, I have a 32 year old married daughter and I live in Tallahassee, FL.   I was primary caregiver for my Mother for the last 5 years until she passed away last fall.  I bought my first home late in 2007 and I am still getting settled.  The deck and the fence are now built so the next projects will be sprucing up the yards.  I have the front yard, the side yard and the back yard, they are all kind of small but big enough to put some color and interest in.  I have lots of ideas for gardens and plants that I want to put into the sandy soil around my home, I just have to find the time and money to do it.   I love cactus (I have prickly pear, a Florida native, and agave) and I love rocks and pavers.  I'm looking forward to see what I can do with my yards over the next 10 years.

I am so glad it is June.  We had an afternoon rain shower yesterday afternoon that left everything in my yard nice and wet.  My marigolds were trying to break out of their pot last night.  I will have to restrain them tonight.  We should keep having ...

I posted pictures in my photo album.
I took photos tonight of the plants I placed in the last few weeks and the pavers I finished.  There is still a lot of work to do but I am very happy with the projects I have finished.  I will not do anymore planting this year.  I will take it easy t...

The end of a very productive weekend.
I got a lot done this weekend, but not as much as I wanted to do.  I did get my version of a rock garden done.  That took awhile because I kept running out of mexican beach rock.  I didn't realize it would take 53 bags to fill in that space.  I had t...
