Finally got around to posting Picts of our front yard. I have been spending most of my time out there this season. I finally am getting it to where I feel like its manageable chaos. I focused mostly this spring on adding foliage interest through texture. My next job for fall is to add a bunch of perinnials for non stop color. I am also going to attempt a "real lawn" this fall. (more on that in another entry) When we bought this house four years ago all we had was the redbud, the dogwood and a bunch of boxed off holly bushes....we have been working hard to make the garden. soaphouse	Jun 25, 2007 \| 3:40 PM PST thanks so much! i need all the positive encouragement I can get! My neighbors don't get it....they all have grass and the few token shrubs...so they probably think my yard looks like an overgrown mess ... oh well LOL!

To me the grass farm front yards that are so common are really ugly in their stark plainess, their big maintenance requirements, and their water and fertilizer requirements. If I am going to put that much work into something (i.e. weekly mowing, annual weed&feed, watering, etc.), I would at least want it to look as nice as your yard.
