My tomato plant is doing verry well it has been planted for i think 4 weeks . it has 8 leaves and is about 2 1/2 inch high. Germinated and planted some okra seeds they have not yet came out of the ground

I've seen people leave it in a pot all year, that way in the fall they can move it inside the house and it will still grow tomatoes.
Technically, Tomatoes, especially indeterminate tomatoes are perennial plants if kept dry and warm enough through the year.

In response to your question about corn on my blog, I think your hardiness zone is too cold for corn. You're at 2 or 3 I believe and I'm at 8. Corn needs a lot of heat and long growing season as far as I know. I'm no expert though. It's possible someone's tried it before...
