About shiukopuppy

I enjoy organic gardening and am trying to reduce my ecological footprint by growing some of my own food. I originally became interested in gardening when I had to grow herbs and veggies that were unavailable at the shops. My boyfriend and I started by growing Japanese and Thai herbs/vegetables. I also grew lettuces for my chickens.

After awhile, I started to expand to grow more fruit, veg and herbs. I like the look of ornamental vegetable gardens. Now I grow chicken forage and some fruit trees as well. I'm trying to grow aubergines and tomatoes at the moment.

My ideal garden would be tropical - where I could grow my own papaya, bananas, mangoes, peanuts and lychees. I'd also like to be able to grow date palms, coconuts and coffee. Unfortunately I live in the wrong climate for that! But if Bob Flowerdew can grow some of them in the UK, it's worth a try!
