Feel like a cricket bat hit me over the head, clearing thinking is ........ well.... The blo....... fruit bats last night. They were so noisy, they woke me up well it was also very hot. They were screaming/screaching their heads off. This morning I checked, yes there is a Morton Bay Fig Ficus macrocarpa in the park across the road and they were feasting.
They used to live in the Fern Gully at the Botanic Gardens but over the years they they were wrecking it. So with lots of community consultation and contraversy, they successfully moved them to Kew along the Yarra River. This is the first year they have come up to my section the park and well.......
They are endangered and are very important in the spreading the seeds of our native species around. They eat the fruit and the pip/seed comes out the other end, thus spreaping the particular species.
Well, a cunnudrum because I know they are important, but really the noise was really annnnnoying........ So I guess they will be back tonight. Well least it is cooler now only 26C. I think that is in the 80sF.
Well I may sound grippy and I am. Lack of a refreshing sleep.

Hi Betts
They were out again last night, but I slept much better. Thank god, because I am helping at La Trobe's Cottage today as it is Australia Day..... which means a public holiday.
Cheers Sandi
