Recently a friend gave me some dried marigold bulbs. He said they were the older kind. I planted them outside in a cup and a few sprouted. I also planted some bulbs from my marigolds in my garden but they did not sprout. Also, a friend told me that only female plants would sprout blooms. If anyone could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm not sure what you mean. A marigold is an annual that comes from seeds not a bulb. If you have a picture of the plant, maybe if you put it in the Plant ID section in the Forums, someone will be able to help you.
