Hey gardeners! I just joined the GG community last week. Gardening has been a bit challenging in Ohio with the eratic rain patterns. It seems that my house is in some sort of bubble. It rains on gardens 1 mile away but not on MY gardens! How does that happen? My gardens look pretty good inspite of little rain (the water bill will reflect the reason for that ;-)
I have a question about my impatiens. I started them from seed during the winter, inside, under grow lights. I pinched back and fertilized from the time they had 4 true leaves. They turned out to be the greenest, healthiest looking impatiens I've ever seen! Since they've grown in my gardens outside, they've gotten even larger, the leaves are huge (for impatiens plants), but there are very few blooms. Does anyone know what I should have done early on to encourage more blooms? This is frustrating! The plants overflow the baskets they are in. The foliage looks great but very few blooms. Does anyone have any advice?
