Sometimes I am just overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness of others. I have been gifting my iris to a friend and anyone who wanted them as I'm trying to clear out a space that is over-run with them. It's a joy to give flowers to someone who will enjoy them as a little piece of you goes with them.
A friend had a few canas they were going to give me so I left out early this morning and off I went to collect my new flower friends. When I got to her house, she was so giving with so many things. I came away with Canas, House Leaks, 3 unknown little lovely plants and a sage bush. It was as though my birthday had come 2 months early.
Knowing I was going to get some Canas, I planned to visit another friend afterward. She had picked up some bulbs on clearance and was going to give me some. She has been the main recipient of my Iris and so I knew she would want some Canas too. Boy, was I in for a suprise. The things that awaited me at her house were outstanding! Have you ever seen Aggie Maroon Blue Bonnets? They are red! And so beautiful. She also had for me Peony roots, Acidentharia blulbs, almost too many to count. Lillies of all colors, 2 different colors of gladiolus and a variety of liliums. I was beside myself. I gave her some Jews, Wild Violets and House Leak along with the Canas but I didn't expect to have to much given to me!
The moral of the story is.... Pay it forward. Give to others as you may receive more in return then you could have imagined.
I'll post pictures soon but it's late and too dark right now. Of course, we'll have to wait on the bulbs and roots to grow.
Amazed,
PWD
