I'm slowing filling in the shade garden under the deck. It's a slow process but next year I hope it will fill in. So far I've planted viburnum, hydrangea, ferns, hostas, corydalis, solomons seal, violets, columbine, wood anemone, goats beard, jack in the pulpit, wild pholx, lily of the valley, sweet woodfuff, jacobs ladder, foam flower. The whole thing is bordered with rocks which I believe grow in our yard. I've even found petosky stones which I thought you had to go to Lake Michigan to find.
I'm most proud of the bed along the drive which I can see from my picture window and the window above my sink in the kitchen. I spend a lot of time there doing dishes so now I can look out and see some plants. I've planted rhododendrons, hydrangea, small pines, iris, ferns and large rocks. I've added a humming bird feeder and a whirlygig. Now doing dishes is much more pleasant.

You have been busy!!!! Love all of those natives :)
I'm trying to improve my view out of the kitchen window too (as well as the double French doors off of the dining room)
