About pattysplants
Hi! I was in the gardencenter/greenhouse business for the last 27 years. I recently retired from the physical aspect because of an old ankle injury. I just couldn't walk on those cement floors for 12 hours a day anymore. I started my own free help and advice web site. I miss talking to my fellow garden enthusists so I thought I'd join a garden forum. I love organic gardening. I can my own salsa and tomato sauce. I have a small perennial ,annual, herb, vegie garden and pond. I'm looking forward to help if I can and also get help. You can never stop learning. My garden is alway changing because there's so many more plants I want to grow. I just don't have enough yet. Happy gardening to all.

Why Use Worm Castings? Because It Works!
I put worm castings in everything I plant. When I plant my veggies, I put some in the hole before planting. My tomatoes always had better flavor than any one else's (so I was told by my friends). If my houseplants needed repo...
Purchasing Plants in the Winter
Plants don’t like cold. They don’t have body heat like we do and we wear coats. You must never take them outside in the winter without some kind of protection. The cover only helps to keep the wind and chill off temporally. I know that sounds l...
