Well guys I found some.
Can't wait for tonight when I can eat them. It is really warm here today but the wind is blowing like crazy. Calling for more rain tonight. Am still waiting to get started planting. The ground is just now starting to warm up. The husband has had to mow the grass twice already. I just laugh because he was thinking about putting more fertilizer on it.
Am going to really get him going when I plant a few trees in about a week. Want to plant some dogwoods for the color in the spring. I think they are so pretty.
Well guys happy planting and hope you are all having better luck with the weather than I am. Linda

Got most of my flower beds ready to be planted and it has been so cold here that I am afraid to plant anything. It has frosted there the last couple of night and they are calling for frost again tonight. The weather man told us to wait until Mother's Day this year. I am about to tear my hair out. Have even been putting off cleaning out the pond because it usually takes about 2 to 3 days and I don't want to leave the lily's out of the water that long. Might have to set up the kiddie pool and just hope for the best though.
Haven't found a mushroom yet, to cold for even that. Have heard though that people are finding a few. The redbud trees are in full bloom. Also the minature fruit trees are in bloom, will probably freeze again this year.
Had to move the bird feeders the other day. The darn squirrels were cleaning out the seeds. Have had a visit from my goosebecks and today I thought I seen a baltimore oriole will have to get the orarge feeder out if that is the case. We had quite a group of them last year. Enough for now. Happy gardening. Linda

It has been awhile since I have been on my favorite sight. Have been real busy with my second most favorite thing. Quilting. Made one of my grandson's a rag quilt, pillow and valances for his windows. He is a OSU fan (lives in OK) so had to make it out of that. Kind of hard to do that when you live in NE and are a Missouri fan, oh well I know he will be glad.
It was just beautiful for about two days here. Wanted to get out in the yard but had to get his quilt done. I noticed that the violets are starting to pop so the moral mushrooms shouldn't be far behind. Man I love those things.
Have noticed some of my plants starting to pop up. Was out in the wind last week and got some cleaning done. Sure did need that shower from all that dirt. You would think that with all the wet weather we have been having there wouldn't be any dust. LOL
Have started remodeling the kitchen which should be fun. HA My other half took it apart a couple of weeks ago and now he is making up his mind on which cabinets to get, don't know how long that will take but it won't be to much longer or he will be cooking his own meals on the 2 little burners he got me. LOL There is always the grill outside too. HAAAAA.
Well enough for now. Will try and post a picture of the mushrooms when I find some.
Night all. Linda

Had a real good Easter. The two oldest Boys were over with there girls. Had a big dinner and supper.
Looked out the window right after dinner and the sun was shining and it was snowing. What crazy weather we are having. Was going to get the boys to help me pick up all the tree limb and fell in the ice strom we had a couple of months ago, but it was just to cold out. Will have to wait for another day.
I am so anxious to get started in my yard. Have tulips coming up, but that is all. Hope is will warm up pretty soon and stay that way. That sister of mine in Montana is having better weather then here in Nebraska.
Hope everyone had a good Easter. Take care and say a pray for all of the troops. Linda

Was just putting some pictures up and was just remembering what changes we have made. My husband does all the digging and I do the planting. Just wonder what he will do this year. I get pretty fustered because I just get my garden to where I want it and he decides to change something, maybe this year he will leave it alone. LOL Have had to move many plants. Will take more pictures this year and show you just what all the changes are.
Just got done filling all the bird feeders. The squirrels had pretty much emptyied them this weekend. Wish they would stay at the neighbors. Supposed to get rain today changing to snow. I noticed that the bulbs that I planted last fall are just starting to come up. Hope nothing happens to them.
Was reading my sisters blog last night about building her pond and beleive me it was alot more work then it reads. She is contantly changing it too. Same as her yard. She is always moving something. Hurt her back last summer moving boulders. LOL. I leave that to my husband Gary although I have been known to move a few.
Enough for now, must get to the housework so I will have time to get back to reading all the blogs.

Sure wish it would stay nice on the weekends. It is about 20 here and I am anxious to start getting in to puttering in the yard. Had a friend tell me the other day that she had ordered her zinna seeds. Hope she has better luck this year. She plants her seeds indoors in peat pots and last spring they all molded on her. She still hasn't figured out what caused it. I'm not that busy yet, will wait to hit the green houses. LOL Don't plant many annuals. I try and get something that I haven't tried or seen before. I'm sitting here writing and I just looked out the window and my flicker is back eating out of the feeder. He has been gone for about a week now. Must have found another feeder to try his luck at. I had a painted bunting come for a day last summer. Hope he bring some of his cousins this year. I just love to see what kind of birds come in. We live in a small town of about 140 but our house is more like living in the country. Trees and bush on the outskirts of our lot, so do get all kinds of critters. It helps to have a big pond and a long stream so they can all take a bath. Let me tell you that a pond is alot of work. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't. Maintenance is unreal, also don't put it under cedar trees, man what a mistake. Oh well do love it though.

Well I have never had this happen before. It has gotten above 60 the last couple of days and the pond has started to thraw out. Well yesterday after a day out and away from it all I looked at the pond and my stupid day lilies are starting to come up through and ice and water, could hardly believe it. Don't know what is going to happen now.
