My pepper plants are done for. Something (rabbit?) broke the green pepper to get at the top leaves. Same with the Serrano pepper. I know I should have gotten some fencing, but just kept forgetting when I was out and about. Urrgghh! Oh well, I will know better for next year.

I pulled a carrot just to check how far along they are. That one needed more time, so no carrots yet.

Picked some peas to test out, but my daughter feels they need more time on the vine. I'll give them a try for dinner tonight.

I'm going to have to really start thinking about a new tree for the back yard to shade the porch. The green apple tree is slowing dying or at least a big branch of it is turning brown and dropping its leaves.

AngelsGarden	Jul 15, 2007 \| 8:53 AM PST Thats heartbreaking about your peppers!! I hate when things like that happen. My Giant Pumpkin Plant went belly up because of insect damage. So sad. I was so looking forward to rolling a huge pumpkin into the front yard...lol. We can always try again next year.

Kitsy	Jul 15, 2007 \| 4:10 PM PST I know just how you feel. Something ate 6 of my broccoli plants and 12 heads of lettuce. I quickly constructed a fence using wire mesh. I'm pleased to say that the lettuce is back and looks beautiful however, no broccoli. But the fence was easy to put up and well worth it.

It was easy to reach everything without having to remove the fencing. When the weather cools off in the fall I'm hoping to start digging and buying more CHICKEN WIRE ! ! Thank you everybody.
