Hi, I haven't written is a long time. Today is a true spring day, sunshine, clouds, threat of rain, sunshine, etc. This past weekend we spread 10 yards of wood chips to recover the garden paths, boy am I glad that job is done! Tom, my husband built me 2 raised beds for my vegetable garden and we have been filling them with leaves, compost etc over winter and now just added some 3-way mix of soil, and compost so they are ready to plant when it is time here. Pruned my roses and they are looking great, moved a few climbing roses, you know that you are a true gardener when you are always moving something from one place to another in the garden.
The greenhouse is doing great, my Meyer lemon tree(a new purchase )is blooming and filling the greenhouse with a sweet fragence. I will put it outside in a few months. I also have freesia from bulbs blooming another good smell. I think that I might get addicted to growing them. I have 13 flats of seeds in various stages from seed to plants and the greenhouse is full to the brim. My day starts with a cup of coffee then off to the greenhouse to peak at what is coming up. I am truly enjoying this greenhouse.
Next on the list is a load of mint compost to spread on the beds, it is the best compost, and fairly inexpensive in Oregon. After that is done then the fun starts of planting up the starts from the greenhouse.
Andrea and I went up to the Northwest Flower and Garden Show in Seattle last month, it was okay got some bulbs but can't say there was anything that really moved me. Maybe that is how it is when you get to be a gardener for as long as we have. If anyone has any new cool plants let me know. Have a great March fellow gardeners.
