Plants in my Garden: 50 huge Cedar trees, 7 pecan trees, 2 old and 5 I planted last fall and they are growing beautifully, 4 o'clocks, iris, Summer squash - almost dead now, Some bushes I don't know the name of , Day lillies, Some kind of rose bush, Lilac bush, Clematis, can't remember the name, 2 mulberry trees that I planted this spring, Magnolia tree planted this last Monday, a few cannas, different varieties of Phlox, a few other things that I don't know the name of

I'm pretty new to gardening and am really enjoying it. We bought our home about a year ago. It is out in the country and sits on three acres. We are located about half way between Lubbock, TX and Amarillo, TX. Just outside a little bity town called Springlake. I don't know where this name came from because there is no lake and certainly no spring. Anyway, it is very dry here, although we did get about 1/2 inch of rain last Friday. I joined this site because I have so many questions and need a lot of help.
I am a registered nurse. I work part time on weekends at a nearby nursing home. My husband does telephone stuff, I can't give many details because I don't know exactly what he job consists of. We have three daughters ages 6, 22 months, and 5 months. So I don't have a gob of time to work in the yard, but do spend a lot of time outside.
