This year has been such an usually warm one. One day it is in the 80s and next thing you know we are back in the 30s. At this point we don't really dare start planting much except for cold weather things like peas, beets, carrots and potatoes. But the warm weather has given us the advantage of being able to get a lot of cleanup work done on our property. Other years we are just getting started on the cleanup but this year we have already been able to get most of it done. 

My DH finished  a new flower bed in which I planted some Peonies, Day Lilies, Lilies and Red Crocosmia. This bed has a fence that is about 3' or so high and goes around three sides of the bed. I plan on growing a climbing rose or two along the fence which DH made sure would be sturdy enough to hold them. Behind this bed is a little sitting area for relaxing and enjoying the garden.There we can sit and enjoy the flowers and birds we have attracted to our property.
