Hmm, the down side of belonging to a garden site seems to be the patience factor. Before I just bobbed along with the seasons and took life (snow) as it came. Now I read about garden prep, I see cute greenhouses, and watch little sprouts in dixie cups as my computer screens changes views with a click of the mouse. Then I look up and out the window! White and if that wasn't enough there is a cold draft across the keyboard! VBSigh. I think I need an attitude adjustment! So I'm off to play with flower patches in a quilted garden. I'll be mulching the floor with all the weedy pieces that don't make the cut or need pruning.
I'll try to remind myself of these days when I'm knee deep in sheep manure and my back is sore from wheeling the wheel barrow thru a curvey path in the heat of summer and I need a quilted project for a quick gift! Such is life! leafette

Madame quilter, that's something I've never done. I don't know any guys who do, although there probably are. Kentucky is famous for it's quilts. When I younger, all the roads down through the country were narrow, winding two lane, no freeways then. The farther away from the city, the more quilts could be seen hanging out for sale. 5 OR 10 dollars back in the 40's and 50's, 200 dollars and up now. My Great Grandmother made quilts until she was in her nineties. I have a great respect for someone who creates that form of art work. You have a great day and happy sewing. Bill Mitchell |

You are right, there are lots of men quilters. Paducha has a big quilt show. Is that somewhere near your neck of the woods? 5 or 10 dollars??? 8>{ I spent the morning digging out some of my quilts to add to my 'other hobby' photo album. Tried to find garden themed ones. 8^) Now to sprinkle scraps about the playroom to create my own mini blizzard! lol leafette |

When I was a girl I loved my grandmothers 'quilted gardens' as you describe them. Better a quilt blizzard inside than the bitter cold one outdoors. Stay Warm and thing growing things. LB |

Thanks but the reason I'm a machine quilter and have so many unfinished projects is because I have NO patience! Hmm, that is also probably why I have so many new but not full flower beds! 8^) leafette |

i love knitting...i am trying to do now a blouse - incredible for AZ weather, but i am trying to be prepared for the next winter - i am "cold" person |

oh leafette I so know how you feel!!! Will I ever look outside and see something other than a blanket of white everywhere I am so ready to get outside and play in the dirt. |

each day brings it's own work,leafette.Do what you want, what you can and let the rest go until your in the mood.My life's a wild patch sometimes,a clipped hedge sometimes and a mixture of all the above. It's all good. Grannylee |
