About leafette
A city gal who was wooed by a farmer. We've lived 'down on the farm' here in south eastern Manitoba for the last 30 years. Now that basic survival seems assured we'd relaxed things a bit only to discover that while we don't need to save money by growing the veggies we do need to save ourselves. So the garden has been revived with an eye to healthy, heritage and happy. My farmer's department, as he is saying that we aren't planting anything we can't eat. And I really do need to oust him from my pottage garden! But I'm into pretty so I do the house and yard. He likes big fat colourful flowers and I like big fat colourful leaves! He is a planner and I have way too much enthusiasim and not enough info or discipline. Energy might be a consideration as well. Dh did 'tell me so'! lol I don't consider myself an outside person but by golly, I can't believe how happy I get hauling stuff around, lugging that gosh darn wheel barrow over bumps, and then leaning on my shovel as I try to figure out where that bird is hiding. I am resisting another hobby but 2 bird books don't constitute another hobby, do they? I read way too much. I luv the whole design aspect of planning but don't seem to have the patience to wait for the end result and get captured by yet another idea. So a dismal year, an empty egg money jar, a few bedraggled and unhappy perennials, flourishing weeds and an endless list of should do's and I'm thinking it is time for a reality check here. Besides my farmer is starting to frown! oops! So,! No more expansion projects, a face to face look at zone denial, moderation, a maintenance plan, finishing, and a little more smelling of the roses!
