The family and I went to my Majestic Montana Mountains over Labor Day.
Stayed in a forest cabin, ..awesome, caught fish, seen 3 bears. One scared the bejeepers out of my son and granddaughter. They were not expecting one so close to the cabin. After that I sure thought twice about going to the outhouse at 2 in the morning . LOL And of course no camera. We did get pictures of the other two.
I like taking picture of those old homestead, I often think of the woman climbing off the wagon and her honey says "we are home". She looks around and think OMG. Both of those homestead pictures are above 6000 feet. The one where you are looking across the meadows is at 7400 feet. The wildflowers were still blooming!
. It is hot and dry here, my garden sure needed a drink when I got home.
Even the dogs were sorry to see our last day ! there are more pictures in the Calf Creek photos

Although bears seem so tame and manageable, you must never let your guard down. These are dangerous wild animals who shouldn't have contact with humans, for your safety and also for theirs. If there is an altercation, Wildlife officers must kill the bear.

HI Bill, we deal with stupid people here in MT that think these bears are just Yogi Bears in the flesh, . A lot of bears have been killed because of some stupid person actions. We have had 4 people killed this summer. One bear was nice enough to leave the guy on the trail after feeding on him.
There are rules but their is always some jerk that thinks he is invisable. And the bear always gets the bullet.
This is wild country and just beacause you are in a Park does not mean these bears, buffalo, wolfs etc are not wild . I don't think anyone has been killed by a black bear, it is grizzly's that do the killing, black bears just get so use to human's they have to be put down. And that is the fault of the humans.

So wild so beautiful. I like this kind of adventurous trip. I am planning one too. Animal needs to be protected, although it is some dangerous. Sometimes we human should leave them alone. it is their land. most of them do not want to be disturbed.
