Wind chill -30, it is gonna be awhile before I get spring. Last Saturday the snow was gone from the front yard, so I loosened up all the mulch , There was green grass under some of those packed down leaves. It is supposed to be in the 4o's by Friday.
I let the pond freeze up again this year. I did the same last winter and the fish were okay. I don't think it was this cold for this long though . I hope I did n't loose any, I had some really pretty ones This has been going on since November.
The side garden has turned out wonderful. I got a gallon of rasberrys last fall, I moved the strawberrys to the side garden, I think they will do better there .I even got some currents but not enough so pick so I let the birds have them. I got the garden all ready to plant. I dug up all that sod, and then my neighbor was taking out his side flower bed and I got all that wonderful loose sandy soil. So had a guy come an rototill it in . I just need to work in a few sacks of manure and I am going to have a wonderful garden. My tomatoes were so good this year.
Bill your pictures are beautiful, winter is a beautiful season and I am going to love it when I can say, I am staying home today, driving in this mess just wears me out. Witt 70 degrees...oh that must feel good.

It has been a terrible winter here. One good thing (I hope) is that it will have killed off the ticks!
Yesterday, it was only 40. What a drastic change!

Witt, We have the pine beetles, they have ruined our forest. They say we need 30 days of really cold weather to get rid of them. I sure hope they were right. Millions of acres have been destroyed, the hill sides are orange .
