Ok I need help! My husband & daughters bought me the most beautiful basket for Mother's Day. Inside this basket was a potted azalea w/white & pink striped buds. I've read a little about the plant but really don't know much about it. I can't find anywhere on the internet on how to keep this pretty thing alive! My husband on accident filled it with too much water but I luckily saved it & drained the water. It now looks so pretty but how to I continue it's life!! Should I clip the flowers that have bloomed once it starts looking wilted? And, should I keep it inside in this pot because it says it likes cool weather? I need to take a picture of it so everyone can see it. Is there anything special I need to do? I've got it sitting by the window so it can have sunlight.
Does anyone have info on these bushes?

I have 5 azaleas in my front flowerbed. They love the morning sun. However, if you remember Mr. Tetley yard over on Primrose, his was in the shade most of the day. Dr. Langham has azaleas, he told me ironite helps them produce more blooms. For me, I just buy a bag of azalea food and 1 part vinager and 3 parts water. You apply this after they bloom so the instructions say. But I apply the vinager mixture before they bloom. Since they bloom in the early spring you are now into the season to feed and nurture the plant itself. Azaleas prefer not to have the north wind on them here in our area. Your front yard is a perfect place for them. That is if you have any room left.:) They also like to be mulched. Around that Tree Rose of Sharon would be a pretty place too. Take it out of the pot and plant it in your yard in a semi sun/shade area.Use a lot of compost to enrich the soil and water regularly to establish the roots. They like an acid fertilizer a couple times a year, a couple weeks after it has quit blooming, and again in early spring before it blooms. Lots of luck with it. They are easy to grow. Our azalea loves the partial shade; it took 8 years to get a shade garden, but we persevered and we even have ferns |

The pink & white striped buds has me confused? I've never seen that type of azalea. Are you sure it's an azalea? |
