Well about me--nothing real special.  I am 66 years old, been married 48 years come May.  In fact we have 2 anniversaries.  We had a civil ceremony (legal one) at the US Consulate in Yokohama, Japan.  Then a church ceremony at the US NavyBase in Yokosuka, Japan 2 days later.

Needless to say I am a US Navy wife, met him when he was on leave heading to Japan, corresponded for almost a year and then he asked me to come over and get married.  I did!!

We had one daughter born there in 61, came back to the states when she was 15 months, went to NJ for 6 months of school, and then instead of being given shore duty, OH NO the US Navy sent us to Kenitra, Morocco!!

Left there in 1964, 5months pregnant, and went to Miami Florida for 4 months, then transferred again! this time to Jacksonville Florida.  That is where our son was born.

Bought our first house, after all 2 overseas duties we were getting shore duty for 3 years--WRONG  He got sent to the USS Ranger an aircraft carrier deploying to VietNam after only one year in the states.

I forgot to tell you, DH is a Meterological Technichian, in other words A Weather Man!!  So off to Oakland CA while he is overseas, then up to Bremerton WA for some Ship Overhauling, and then back to Oakland while he does another year on the Ranger.

Now stateside duty is definitely in the books?  WRONG back to Japan for 3 years. Again Yokosuka Navy Base and there we have the last of our kids, another girl.

Finally got stateside duty in Pax River MD, DH due to retire and after the 3 years puts in his papers, NO RETIREMENT ALLOWED!! He about Sh@t!! Sent him to the USS America for duty in the Med.  That was the last straw!

We bought a house in Virginia Beach, VA this time he would retire, and get a job in Norfolk.  Again Wrong!!  No one wanted to hire him, he was retired, getting a salary from the USA,  enough to pay the mortgage, and I had to go to work.

Well then he gave up, joined the US Weather Service, and we get sent to, Ready??? Bismarck North Dakota!  That was 13 years of different climate believe me.  I did have a beautiful large garden, first one.  Planted in May harvested in Sept. and then just sat in the house and watch  the temp fall.

While living there the oldest DD got married to a born and bred ND boy, took him to Calif. (Dh and I grew up there) to meet some family and the SIL called home and said I am not coming Home!!  He loved CA, and still does. 

Then the son was in a swimming accident, swimming is what I mean!, and broke his neck, leaving him a partial Quadrapalegic, he can move above the shoulders and his arms, but not his hands. So I became and still am his caregiver.
