I am brand new to gardening and I am hoping to transform my ugly postage stamp size city yard into a beautiful cottage style garden.

I never bothered much with trying to garden when my children were small , now that they are grown I really have the desire to fix up the yard and try my hand at gardening. I don't know if I will actually get anything to grow but I am hoping to learn a lot about gardening from other members here.

We had a brand new garage build last year and the yard was pretty much torn up from the builders equipment. So I am starting out with nothing growing in the yard right now. I did buy some planters and I planted some various annual flower seeds. I would like to make a flower bed along the fence and also get more pots for container gardens. other then that , I don't know... It's pretty over whelming at the garden centers when you need just about everything (not to mention expensive). lol. I have a lot of work to do and a lot to learn about gardening.
