Any suggestions for weed free mulches....

It's a warm end to February here in town and I need something to keep my herbs from getting parched.....Any natural mulch suggestions? I want something "weed free" of course....

bsmitch	Feb 25, 2008 \| 7:45 PM PST Since you do most your gardening in containers, you probably don't need a massive amount of mulch. I would suggest sphagnum, vermiculite, or perlite. They help keep the soil light and aerated and also help retain moisture. You can use worm casing compost also. I suggest that you go to the forums and introduce yourself there if you haven't already.
