About herbaltea
My name is Kris. I think I have had a love for plants longer than I realize. My love and interest in gardening began with roses when I was a kid. Even back then, I was trying to make rose petals into perfumes. My first career was teaching. After having taught for five years, and being very tired of "teaching to the test" which so many teachers are being forced to do, I was in much need of a change. As a second career, I went into massage therapy. (I can now tell a principal that I am trained to manipulate soft tissue....Smile....just a little massage therapy humor:)...which links up to aromatherapy. That got me studying all of those wonderful scents, herbs, and spices that are part of aromatherapy. Then, 2 years ago. My (now) husband and I were on one of our trips home from the country. We stopped at this old Catholic church to look at their garden. I remembered how my mother used to take "leaves" or "stems" from other roses, "stick em in the ground", and then they'd eventually grow into these wonderful bushes. When I got home, I called my mother. She coached me what I needed to do to get that little "stem" to grow. I followed her instructions, and sure enough.....I now have my own rose bush. That was my first major accomplishment in the gardening world. Recently, thanks to new tricks that my body played on me, I've had lots of time on my hands. My hubby and I made a trip to one of the local nurseries, bought six or so different herbs. They are now growing in our planter. Thus, my addiction and new journey have begun...So, if you need to know how your herbs can be used homeopathicly, I probably have a book on it. Oh wait....I guess you can do that with the internet. Stop and chat anyway. That's how I learn. I am sure that as the herbs in my planter grow and mature, I will find myself with more and more pots, as I separate those herbs, giving them their own space. How's that for plant psychology.....And the journey continues....
