My grandboy Matt, has caught the gardening bug! He started dozens of halloween pumpkin seeds and they ALL sprouted.My poor husband now has to plow up a pumpkin patch. Not only that but Matt also sprouted squash, cucs, watermelon, cantelope and I don't know what all! In addition to his usual gourds and sunflowers, he is talking about his forthcoming mater crop.Holy cow folks, the boy turns nine tomorrow. I told him, he's going to be a busy man this summer! What a joy to have a natural born farmer on my hands! Trouble is; his feet don't reach the tractor pedels yet!LOL

grannylee	Apr 8, 2008 \| 4:27 PM PST Thanks everyone.When Matty was real little I used to carry him out to the veggie garden and let him dig,with a spoon,and yes Linda he does seem to have a green thumb.Or more than that touched by the angels,he is so sweet, and yet a little devil at times too.But always an awfully nice little human being. P.S. Thanks for the name carving tip, Andrea, I'm sure to try that one. P.P.S. I'm gonna make that boy the best cake he ever had tomorrow.

Even to this day,i can plant something or see a plant and I will think about how my mom taught me to plant a certain way,etc.when I was a child. It sticks forever...what sweet memories!
grannylee	Apr 9, 2008 \| 6:26 AM PST DD, My husband and I have four girls.I truely believe God sent Matt to me, as special gift.Although we have 7 more grandsons and 2 grandaughters, I knew the second he was born that he was the son of my old age.My lovely daughter Callie and her husband Jack,allow me to have him over as much as we and he like.He will inherit this broken down old farm,because he loves the land and what it can grow.
