Having just returned from a trip to our nations capitol, not for the pleasure of the museums or to view the still frozen cherry blossoms, but for a family crisis, I am so glad to be home where all is quiet. It was inspite of the reason for going, a real trip to another world. From the balcony of the hotel, late at night I could look out and see the lights across the potomac river. The masonic temple looked fabulously exotic, it's dome like something from Russia. All the buildings solid and federal old victorian town homes, row upon row down first street painted differently, like flowers of the same mother plant, but individual. The birds all plump and friendly beyond belief. Purple and yellow pansies frozen, but still vivid, in the cold snap that blew hats away and caused people of all description and diversity, to hurry hurry inside. I can see how some would prefer to live in a city, so much going on. Frankly it made me tired to watch as most of the doctors and nurses and all the rest of the staff , walked briskly from here to there. Such intelligence and concern made me feel humble and gave me a new appreciation for these dedicated healers. Hats off to the fine people of our nations capitol. What a place to be proud of!!!! If you ever get a chance to visit D.C., go not as a tourist but as one of "We the People", cause that is surly what they treat you like.
