My mother-in law passed away last Aug. after a long illness and in her honor, I have been clearing a spot that has been taken over by vines and blackberry tangles, small pine seedlings and the like. I'm calling this spot,"Granny"s Park". She was known to the grandkids as Granny- Great".It's tough going in some spots,the vines are wound around the trees and it's a mess.As spring is fast approaching, I intend to speed up the clearing part, guess that"s what I'll b doing today.When I get this done, I'm agonna put in a stone bench and some kindda memorial thing out there.Not sure what yet. She loved roses, so I may transplant some of the Va. roses off the fence and let them grow just for her.A sweet southren wife she was and a good friend.

My Dad was no gardener but enjoyed watching the robins. He bought a bird bath and would fill it with water every morning. When they moved to an apartment I inherited the bird bath. Now that I am totally into gardening that bird bath is a focal point and I never look at it without thinking of my Dad! Gardeners have good memories! hmm, there's a point to ponder! Now I guess that is true unless they lose them! 8^) leafette |

I have a tribute in mind for my Grandma who passed away actually on Mother's Day - we grew up helping her with her Easter Lily garden. It was SO perfect, not a weed in sight! I definitely need to find a special spot to honor her! I wish you the best with yours! Debbie in IL |
