The corn I planted got too tall, more than 10 ft. I think, so I cut them off mid stem but ther are still ears growing on them. As this is my first time planting them, I got uneasy and concerned with the neighbors so I cut them off. My question is, will the ears keep growing? They are not fully developd yet but there are plenty of leaves left but no more of the flowering stalk. I just want to dig them up if the ears will not fully develop anymore. No more corn for next year, that's for sure. Any advice?
By the way, the continuing saga of my niece Cecile's pregnancy. She had a very bad stomach ache last Wednesday and spotted some blood, not much but enough for her to be concerned. My sister, her mom, immediately booked a flight to So. Carolina because we are all concerned now because we know she had a fibroid the size of a walnut too. So she went to the doctor and got examined. The result was more depressing for us all because doctors said that she was carrying twins but the other fetus did develop much, that's why she bled. Her mother is one of the remaining twins in our family. We all thought that a twin sibling will not have a twin but the sibling can have a twin but here we are, a twin sibling having a twin (although one did not develop). For this coming Wednesday, the doctor will find out what is best for the fibroid. I hope and pray that she will be okay. I just got her lately to the joys of gardening and one of the first plant she bought for her front porch is a white clematis although she does not know its name. Please say a prayer or two for Cecile. Thanks.
How is everybody doing? Hope you all have a nice weekend and happy gardening.
(PS: I don't know what's happening here but had to edit my blog sometimes because the spelling gets "murdered", i.e. missing a letter here or a letter there. Could be I need a new computer. The keys are getting stiff now.)
