I am so disgusted. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL AND UNFORTUNATELY submitted this form for a drug discount thinking it is a good deal as it is free to sign up and you get a card right away by printing the card. It says it can be used and activated immediately so I submitted my name and email address. As soon as that was done, guess what I had been receiving by the hundreds in my email. It is from emails I never know and all of them have good sounding first and last name but the message is all for viagra or cialis, etc. It s disgusting. My mail box gets lots and lots of them now it takes me 20 minutes to bounce them and block them. So think hard before filling out forms and submitting your email address for freedrugcard.

TumbleWeed	Jul 29, 2008 \| 10:27 AM PST Never ever respond to an email that requests information no matter how legitimate it seems. Do your research. Google the company name, google anything on the email that you can. If the company is legit they will have a well established website with certifications on it (such as the BBB) and have the same offering available on the site. If in doubt send me the email and I'll do the research. Sorry you had to find out the hard way but spam is bad and they have many ways to suck you in. Unfortunately once your email gets into their hands it will be distributed and redistributed forever. You should have the ability though to setup junk or email filterings to help push these out of your main box. (Yep, I work in IT)

flyfisher51	Jul 29, 2008 \| 2:47 PM PST I have received similar e-mail not even posted to my box. I just set my filters high on all my e-mails'. You have to check junk every couple days, but eventually you get mostly the mail you want to receive. Good luck on straightening it out.

However, to set the record straight, the Free Drug Card programs found on Google and other search engines are legitimate and are used by millions of uninsured patients to save money. They are free to the public because they are funded by pharmacuetical manufactures, thousands of pharmacies that participate in the free discount programs and the companies that process insurance cards. Most programs, like www.SuperRxCard.com for example, do not require that you give any information other than the name that will be printed on your free printable card - your e-mail address is not required(enter NONE in the box).If you would like additional information or e-mail program announcements or updates you may,if you want to, give them your e-mail address. Also, legitimate drug card providers usually have their customer service # shown on their website. These free programs are legitimate and have been helping patients, for many years,better afford their prescription medicines. The pharmacies that participate want you to do business with them - that is why they pay to participate in these free programs. Your warning about E-MAIL solicitations is good advice,however,we should not discourage anyone from trying Free Drug Card programs in general because they are serving a legitimate public service and should be supported.Free drug cards are one of the very few free offers on the internet that are really free. It must not have been the same sender that spammed you because why would they need you to sign up to spamm you if they already had your e-mail? Are you sure the free drug card website was responsible for you spam, i.e., did the spam include your full name (from the drug card form) ? Just curious.I get the same type spam all the time and it comes in sporadic deluges, I have no idea how they get my e-mail address really.It is easy to speculate but do we really know who the culprits are? A good policy is not to respond to unsolicited e-mails, but, I still get my share of spam anyway. Sorry this happened to you, but, I stand the fact that free drug cards are legitimate and people do not need to be afraid of the websites that offer them, especially those that do not make your e-mail a required field to print a card.
