I am so sick of my neighbors' cats unloading themselves on my yard. This morning, I was spreading fertilizer on my front lawn when I saw what looks like a brown stone and as it looks exactly like the brown stones I have around my front yard bed, I picked it up to tell my husband who does the lawnmowing to watch out for the brown stones that may scatter to the lawn. As soon as I picked it up, I screamed so loud eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkk. It was a fresh dog's poo. I threw-up in the lawn and didn't get to finish my chore. I ran to the shower with my clothes still on and wash my hands until they hurt. My hubby must be wondering if I am going crazy but I did not say anything because I was very very upset. I got so lazy and frustrated that I may not be doing any yard work soon. Yesterday, I scooped several of the cat's poo in my back yard. When wll this end?
I had been trying to buy those electronic invisible fence to ward off all of my neighbors' pets. Do any of you have such a thing or know of any? As much as I love cats and dogs, (we used to have two cats and a dog in our previous house), pets and garden are not compatible so no pets for me now.

You reminded me of a time before I had kids that I was helping with a brownie troop in a mountainous community. This one childs parent worked in a remote Observatory and was from a real city area. We took these little girls up a hill on a scavenger hunt. This child came running to say 'look what I found'. I had my back turned to her but in hearing my co-workers comment looked behind me. Here she was holding a dry cow-pie. We didn't want her to do what you did with your dog poo, so we quietly told her to put in down and for some reason she did so. Then we told ALL the little girls what NOT to choose for their scavenger hunt. We really laughed about it later on. YUCK!!!! I would ask your neighbors very nicely to please keep their pets out of your yard, that you are getting very tired of having clean up their messes from your gardens. If they don't keep their pets contained, call animal control to complain. Pets are not allowed to roam unsupervised. Unless the animals are wearing the special collars, an invisible fence won't help at all. |

Two comments from me, first, cats bury their poo. If you find some on your lawn, it is probably a coon, possum, or dog with diarrhea. Electric pet fences are meant to keep pets in a yard. They must wear a sensor collar that shocks them as they approach the fence. They soon learn not to go there. Your neighbors need to get them. You have a great day band happy gardening. Look at my post called a photo journal. I made a sign, but I dont think animals can read. A fence is great for keeping dogs out,but not cats. |

There are a few products on the market to spray where you don't want these animals. Talk with the neighbor and see if they can make an "outdoor" place for their cats. I did for mine-their own sandbox by the back fence. |

ok that makes me sick!! I did that once and I promise you YOU WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!! I got a dog comes to my yard to from the neighbors and they tell me.."this is rowdy..oh you know, he is in your yard more than his" YEAH!! I KNOW!! |

I feel awkward wearing gardening gloves and although I have all kinds of them, I am not too handy while wearing them. I have a box of vinyl gloves, but that gets uncomfortable in the heat. But I swear I will be wearing them no matter what. |
