I am so thankful that I have a place to go when I wake up in the morning. The only time I do not think of my sister Anna is when I go to my garden, check which flowers are blooming, weed, water and just about do anything I can think of to forget, otherwise, all that is in my mind is imagine how my sister had been suffering in the last 2 to 3 months. Why the Almighty is prolonging her pain, I have no answer, only to believe that He is the one to decide, not me, not the doctors, not her family. I know she will leave us soon and for her it will end but it won't end for us she will leave behind. I was up late today, almost past 7:30 a.m. I went outside to my garden and there where blooming clematis today, Ruby Glow completely covering the planter with its many blooms, Grandiflora up in the arbor, Lasurstern, Multi Blue, Niobe and Empress. And I can see the freesias enticing a bee with its fragrance. I would like to cut them all off and give them to her as a token of my love but she can't even hear me or see me anymore, just breathing to let us know the Lord has not yet taken her away. It will be soon, my loving sister.

You can pick a plant type that reminds you of your sister and nurture those in every garden you ever have. In time, they may bring you those pleasant memories of earlier days instead of the ones that you are receiving now. God Bless you and her.
indianshadow46	Mar 27, 2008 \| 1:20 AM PST A very good suggestion BrownThumb. I lost my Mother last month. She was an avid gardener after she retired. We shared in planting a Japanese Maple while she was here on her last visit. I always think of her when a leaf appears. I brought back a redbud tree from her yard. It is just a little thing. It hasn't budded out. I hope it made it through the winter. My Mother only lived a few months after being diagnosed with bladder cancer. So Gardenbug I know what you are going through. gardenbug8	Mar 27, 2008 \| 6:56 AM PST Thank you both for the suggestion. She loves African Violets but I never had one of those. I am going to get some right away. She left us this morning but at least now I know her pain and suffering had ended. What hurts me the most is knowing that she is suffering but I can't even do anything about it. But the Lord has taught me how insignificant I am and only He has the power. So goodbye, my darling sister. Our Saviour will be with you in your long journey to heaven. And thank you Garden Guides. My blogs helped me a lot to deal with my pain.
dirtdobber	Apr 9, 2008 \| 5:52 AM PST I have just read your blog and saw that you recently lost your sister. Please accept my sympathies. I know it hurts. Please take the other suggestions and plant in her memory. The african violet would be great. My mom passed away 2 years ago and I miss her terribly. I have transplanted some things from her garden to make a memory garden. I agree that in time it will bring to mind very sweet memories.
