We knew our seventeen year old liked trampolines, she had mentioned it over the last year or so. What I did not realize is how much she liked them....When my heart finally heard her words, I jumped on Craigslist and found this monster. We picked it up last week...Oh well, the grass can be reseeded when she leaves for college next year and the blue monster is relisted on CL. The yard really is not suited for the thing-but she is happy, she loves it and we have had a blast on it as well. If you have not jumped on a trampoline-DO IT, my friend and I laughed so hard we felt like teenagers. I was a bit alarmed when the 17yo started moving a deck chair toward the roof this afternoon-reminded her to think twice about her intentions and then remember what she learned in physics class....good grief!!! It is so nice to have consistent heat so our blooms start to pop and we have color. The agapanthus and crocosmia are starting to open as well as a few leaves on the plumerias. My neighbors are enjoying fragrance from their brugs, so I should get some blooms soon (mine are in more shade). Took a few photos of our courtyard this morning, as well as some mini (haha) EEs & brugmansias for Bugnut & Stereoman to see (tiny compared to theirs),etc-all posted under a new album "July 16, 2008".

On the enjoy life note (outside of gardening :) ), I say that because I recently received a small inheritance and was told to "Enjoy Life" with it...so I bought a tandem kayak yesterday and soon will be spending some quality time navigating Lake Washington. The "we" can be DH, my children, friends (I was also told to not share the inheritance goofy deal-no explanation coming!)-it will be so fun! There is a bald eagle that sits in a tree on the trail I run on near the lake. I can hardly wait to pause and watch him on HIS tree as we quietly sit in the water.

Our remodel is almost done, my husband is going nonstop trying to finish all the little things that don't get done until a relative visits. I am soooooooooo thankful his brother (older!) and family are visiting next week. Amazing how quickly everything is wrapping up NOW!!!! :) The new garage doors, deck railing and rebuilt ramp will be done by next week...more photos to follow.

rockybane	Jul 17, 2008 \| 5:34 AM PST We've had a trampoline for years, my kids and then my grandkids have loved it--even through a broken leg! The grass grows taller under ours, though maybe a little sparse. I have enough room in the backyard I just push it from one place to another with my mower, so I can mow under it. It's not too heavy to pull yourself, but the lawnmower doesn't even break a sweat!
carolyncat353	Jul 17, 2008 \| 6:23 AM PST We had a trampoline from the time Clint was 7 until he was in high school. Yep, he drug it next to the house, would climb on the roof and jump! It was ok until he taught the neighbors "young" kids to do it! Congrats on your inheritance. My parents have been dead over 10 years-still waiting on 1 brother for mine to come through. Aurora	Jul 17, 2008 \| 7:08 AM PST My kids love trampolines- we don't have room in our yard for one since we put up the pool though :( Try "Popcorn"- someone sits in the middle, while another person jumps, you'll hop up and down laughing hysterically; believe me :)

countrylane	Jul 17, 2008 \| 1:23 PM PST I love to jump on those. DH's sister and family have one and our kids love to go there so they can jump. I used to be able to do a front flip on one, though that's been a few years ago. DH's sis won't let her DH do any more flips, I guess she's scared he'll break something! Enjoy that kayak and the bald eagle! Good for you!

flyfisher51	Jul 17, 2008 \| 5:57 PM PST The trampoline looks fine in the yard. It is great that you got a kayak. The best way to enjoy a river or lake is to be in the middle of it. I have come upon our Eagle at our reservoir several times.(I normally fish the spots he is watching.) All the other life is fun to watch; turtles, ducks, geese, fish and Osprey. Enjoy your life. dirtdobber	Jul 20, 2008 \| 11:18 AM PST I just love the idea that your 17 yr old did not let her age get in the way of having fun. (seems trampolines are usually given to younger kids). I love even more that her parents went along with it! Good, clean, fun!!
