My Polish Spirit clematis is sending up new shoots from the ground. We've had some rain and a few warmish days and the darn thing is starting to grow, thank God. I've been wracking my brain(ouch) for something to plant in it's place. Now I won't have to do that anymore. I cut down all the old growth, even the vines that had shoots on them. I'll let it start fresh this year. I did notice my trellis is starting to rot. It's been there for awhile so no surprise there. Good old zip ties will hold her for another year. nbsp;

Yay Foz!!!! I think to celebrate the fact that you don't have to buy a new plant you should treat yourself to a new trellis!!!
I've learned never to give up on a clematis. We left our first one in its little black pot and temps hit the 90s. It fried it but we planted it anyway. This is its third year and it's doing fine! And it's one of those finicky Group 2 clematis.
