About flyfisher51

I flyfish, canoe, homebrew, model railroad, and garden. I have a small vegitable garden for tomatoes, peppers, and squash. We have a small herb garden and several small flower gardens. I also enjoy feeding the birds.  My family has always had gardens and I guess I inherited that gene. We are fortunate to be near alot of small farms that have stands in the spring, summer, and fall.

I am a 56 year old male, 57 in May 2008. I have been married for 34 years and have 2 daughters. I canoe, model railroad and garden with my wife. We have 4 cats, I will post pictures later. The white cat on my profile, passed away on Christmas Eve in 2006. He had just gotten over a very bad illness and seemed to be fully recovered. He was playing with Christmas wrapping and just died. I miss his company when I tie flies and none of the other cats have an interest in taking his place. Two are lap cats, the girls, and the two boys get in your face and want attention, now!

Mother Nature decided it was a good time for me to start the blog. She waited for me to finish my weeding before opening up the clouds. I lost 3 zucchini plants and about 6 winter squash vines to the squash borer. One of my winter squash vines hit...

It has been a busy weekend. I had to sneak time in the yard between trips to Doctors, family and friends. I bottled my last batch of homebrew on Friday night. It should be ready in two weeks, just in time for the Philadelphia Folk Festival. I will be...
