About fletchette

I cannot remember NOT gardening. It has been a life long avocation and joy. I passed it on to both of my daughters as well, and now my granddaughters are also gardening!

I remember being a small child standing in my grandma's garden in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - it was like being Alice in Wonderland. The hollyhocks and delphinium towered over my head and there was nowhere to walk. When I now look back, I realize the garden was a rather small space in the front of her home.  And it was solid flowers, for the entire brief UP summer. I loved creeping into it and finding a tiny space where I could sit and look up and around and be surrounded by colors and scents and the warm smell of dirt. It was heaven.
