Does anyone remember 'September Morn' by Neil Diamond?
September morn Do you remember how we danced that night away Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play September morning still can make me feel this way
I was talking to Yardgranny (Linda) yesterday and we both agree that the season is changing. I love fall. But.....that means farewell to a lot of flowers. I had to say goodbye to most of my zinnias. I think it was the powdery mildew that got them.
My moonflower finally starting blooming.
This is a new bed that we started this summer. I filled it in with hollyhocks, hibiscus, a yellow knockout and scattered zinnia and cosmo seeds. The zinnias and cosmos are coming up and the sunflowers that Wayne started are blooming! I also dug a clump of lily bulbs and iris to spread through there.

Great song. Love your flower bed and the brick wall background. Enjoy seeing your flowers and your blogs. I am going to have a pickup load to take to the yard waste site pretty soon too. Last year we had frosted on this date and most things were finished by that.

My zinnias are looking rough, too, but I have lots of volunteers coming up that may bloom before we get cold weather. Wish my Moonflower would do something! It hasn't done much of anything this year.

I love that song too. I also love the Fall--it's my favorite season. I have a big planter outside my door and one of the flowers is a lime green and burgundy coleus. I love it and so does a friend. I gave her a clipping from it and she has it growing in a pot inside her apartment and it's growing really well. I am going to start a clipping for myself so I can have it (hopefully) all Winter. Then next Spring I'll plant it outside. This way I'll have a little bit of the growing season inside.

Awww, poor zinnias. The ones that you gave me haven't bloomed yet. They best better hurry up if I expect to get some seeds!
I haven't done pansies in a few years. Maybe this year. One year, I kept them growing through almost the whole summer before they played out.

Oh, I love that song---well, heck I loved Neil Diamond period ! That was so sad seeing your zinnias hit the dust ! I just leave my zinnia's and spent flowerheads as is for food for the birds during the winter. So, snapdragons like the cooler temperatures like pansy's ? Your yard is pretty. Take care, mitzi
