It sure was nice to see the sun today! Since the lst of May I think it has rained every day but 2 here in Southside Virginia.
Today was cooler and tonite we could get temps in the upper 30's. Brrr! Hope my tomato plants and seedlings make it thru the night. The flower seedlings are in the shed except for the lettuce and carrot seeds I put in the raised bed three weeks ago.
I am so new to this... never tried growing veggies before. Sure was surprised that I couldn't put in all the things I wanted to in only one raised bed which is 4 x 8. Was hoping for cucumbers and beans but they need more space. And I did not know lettuce likes cool weather. Oh well, I will be happy if the tomatoes grow well. Didn't want to be overwhelmed with too much to look after so soon in the game!
The herbs I planted in a large plastic square planter are looking good. I have some thai basil, sweet basil, parsley and oregano. My first try with herbs too.
And yes, it feels good to be ready for it! Presents are wrapped and/or have been mailed. Cards done two weeks ago.
My hubby is finishing the tree. We both have'nt been feeling up to par the last few days, but all is wonderful still.
We are blessed with wonderful family and friends. Although it will be just the two of us for the holidays. Most of our family is in New Jersey, some in Georgia, some in FLA. Really wanted to go north this year, but alas, it's just not possible. (We live in Virginia now).
Christmas night we will be in front of the fireplace, raising our glass of wine and wishing all a safe, happy, & healthy holiday season.
