Well, I'm enjoying my day off from work. As I sat on y back porch this morning drinking my coffee, I was straining to see my 2 rose of sharon plants at the edge of the yard. I bought them both several weeks ago at Lowes. They are both white(figured they would show up from a distance). I really wanted a pinkish one but they didn't have any. I thought my eyes were deceiving me this morning...it looked like a pink bloom on my plant! I ran and slid on my flip flops, and in my pajamas and bathrobe, I trooped down to the site of my hallucination. But it was no hallucination. The biggest pink bloom you ever saw just smiling up at me! Right next to the white one on another branch. How cool! I love it when God gives us these little gifts in nature. Do you think it was grafted on at some time or what? There is definitely only one plant there. Just wanted to share my little gift with you all. Sometimes it just takes being still and watching, to see what God has in store for us! Hope you are having a great day...and get in that dirt! Trish

How fun! I am often seen walking around in my gardens with my PJ's on, holding a cup of coffee :) |

I have 2 RoS also, gifts from a friend one hasn't bloomed yet they were cuttings. The one that has bloomed is pink and I've seen at least 5 blooms so far. That is awesome hope mine does like yours did sometime :) |

Yes, yes a picture of the two colors on one plant. That is always a wonderful surprise. My little ROS just put out its first bloom which I will post soon. I did not know what color it was going to be. It is a double/triple dark pink to red shade. I am so glad as I hoped it would be red. Linda B |

Goody for you! I love God's little treats too. Although I'm pretty sure all of our gardens are treats from Him. Except for a few trial and error mistakes!!! Sorry Lord, crown vetch (wretch) is one of them....LOL |

I love Rose of Sharon. I have a Lavender Chiffon in the front yard. It reminds me of my childhood. We had a large Rose of Sharon growing next to the house and I always had to give it a wide berth when walking near it because of the bees. Enjoy your bi-color roses. |
